Great Fan Pack

Reviewed by Frank K. Comfort, 2010-02-02

This is a great package for Hendrix fans, old and new. The mini posters look great mounted in frames or shadow boxes and of course the music is heaven. In a world filled with worries, it was nice to listen to these old Hendrix recordings and remember just how simple life was in the late 60's and early 70's. This set is a real must-have for Hendrix fans and I'm surprised that it wasn't introduced sooner.

Where's the music?

I don't believe that there is any new music in this fan pack. The CD is a copy of Dagger #10 - "JHE Paris & Ottawa Live 1968", which most fans would have already bought a year ago when it came out. It could have included their new release Dagger #11 - "Live At Woburn", but it doesn't. And contrary to the first review, the music on the record is different from the CD. The colored splatter vinyl is cool, but the album would appear to be a restamping of the first record from a double album released on purple vinyl in 2004, still available on CD, called "JHE Paris 67/San Francisco 68", Dagger #6. Authentic Hendrix claims in their pre-release statement that this record would include all 9 songs from the Paris concert, but it only has the same 7 songs previously available. There are dozens of concerts and hundreds of hours of unreleased Hendrix recordings out there, but Dagger chose to repackage the same old tracks, what a shame. What Would Jimi Do?

And the Pikcard contains 4, not 3, plectrums/guitar picks.

WOW, What A Perfect Fan Pack!
